Abstract → Ethereum
How to withdraw from Abstract before the shutdown (Dec 15, 2026)
Abstract announced that it shuts down on December 15, 2026, and that users who have not moved their assets by then will lose access to them. The native bridge withdraws ETH and supported tokens to Ethereum in two parts: you start on Abstract, and once Abstract executes the batch on Ethereum, a claim transaction on Ethereum releases the funds. Many withdrawals were started and never claimed.
- Deadline: move assets off Abstract before December 15, 2026 (migrate.abs.xyz)
- Native bridge: start on Abstract, wait for the batch to be executed on Ethereum (about a day in our checks, October 2026), then claim on Ethereum
- On October 24, 2026 about 1,800 executed withdrawals (≈ 60 ETH) were still unclaimed on Ethereum, over 1,100 of them older than a month
- We have not confirmed that claims keep working after the shutdown: claim well before December 15
How to withdraw
- ETH
- Start on Abstract (native-bridge.abs.xyz or the Migration Hub) and set an Ethereum wallet you control as the recipient → wait until Abstract executes the batch on Ethereum → claim on Ethereum (L1Nullifier.finalizeDeposit). The ETH arrives at the recipient written in the withdrawal.
- Tokens
- Tokens with an official route go the same way and are claimed with the same call. A token has an official route only if Ethereum's bridge vault holds it for Abstract; for the others the Migration Hub lists third-party routes (Stargate, Relay, Jumper) with their own fees and terms.
- Unclaimed withdrawal
- Started a withdrawal and never came back? If its batch is executed and the claim was never sent, one Ethereum transaction finishes it. Anyone can send it; the funds only go to the recipient in the withdrawal. Paste the address in the checker above: it finds the withdrawal, re-checks on Ethereum that it is still unclaimed, checks the recipient and fills in every value.
- Abstract Global Wallet (AGW)
- An AGW is a smart wallet that exists only on Abstract. When you withdraw from it, pick an Ethereum wallet you control as the recipient. A withdrawal addressed to the AGW address itself pays that same address on Ethereum, where it has no code and, as far as we know, no way for its owner to control it. Funds claimed there may be impossible to move, so DeadBags does not offer a claim for it.

FAQ
What happens on December 15?
Abstract says users who have not moved their assets off Abstract by December 15, 2026 will lose access to them. Start any withdrawal early: it needs Abstract to execute its batch on Ethereum before it can be claimed.
I started a withdrawal and never claimed it. Is it lost?
Not if its batch was executed on Ethereum and nobody claimed it yet. Then one claim transaction on Ethereum releases it to the recipient written in the withdrawal. Do it before December 15: we have not confirmed that claims keep working after the shutdown.
The checker says "Recipient risk". What does that mean?
The withdrawal is addressed to an Ethereum address that may not be able to keep or move the funds: an Abstract Global Wallet or another Abstract contract (no code at that address on Ethereum), or an address whose EIP-7702 delegation matches a known wallet-drainer pattern or forwards what it receives. The recipient cannot be changed, so DeadBags shows the reason and does not offer a claim for it.
Why do I need ETH on Ethereum?
The claim is an Ethereum transaction, about 200,000 gas. Anyone can send it, so a friend can pay the gas; the funds still go only to the recipient in the withdrawal.
Does DeadBags touch my funds?
No. Checking is read-only: you paste a public address, nothing is connected or signed. Claims go from Abstract's bridge contracts on Ethereum straight to the recipient. Use only official links: fake migration sites are already circulating.
